Brazilian hydrous ethanol consumption hit third monthly record in a row in September

In Brazil, hydrous ethanol consumption has hit a record in September for the third month in a row at 1.63 billion liters, up 48% on the year and up 4% from August. Before July’s consumption of 1.55 billion liters, the previous record had been in December 2009 at 1.51 billion liters. Total consumption for the year through September reached 13.1 billion liters, up 42% on the year. Price parity in September averaged 63.3% of the gasoline price but that situation changed in October where more demand weakened the parity to 68% last week.
