Digest Bioeconomy Index slumps to 56.37 as China’s currency devalues

The Digest Bioeconomy Index, an index of publicly traded advanced bioeconomy stocks, dropped back to 56.37, down 1.79 percent, as chemicals slumped on China’s currency devaluation. For the day, BioAmber (BIOA) gave back 10.42 percent to $6.02, while Metabolix (MBLX) lost 10.79 percent to $2.81. Among other equities, Abengoa (ABGB) lost 6.08 percent to $5.72. Overall, declines led advances 6 to 1 for the day.
