India sets ethanol supply quotas for E10 but they’re far beyond installed production capacity

In India, the food ministry has set ethanol supply volumes by state in order to comply with the new E10 policy that comes into effect with the new sugarcane milling season on Oct. 1. The largest state, Uttar Pradesh, must supply 560 million liters but at the moment only has production capacity of 350 million liters. Maharashtra must supply 530 million liters from a production capacity of 250 million liters and Karnataka must supply 250 million liters from installed capacity of 230 million liters.
